The Zero Waste Event Kit aims to help event organisers, land managers and patrons eliminate waste and prevent litter at Greater Geelong and Borough of Queenscliff events of all sizes and types, regardless of their duration, location, number of patrons or setup. The kit is a pre-fabricated flat pack framework that assembles around standard wheelie bins and supports banners detailing 8 different waste streams and is available for free to the community. The kit has already demonstrated it’s effectiveness at reducing waste from events in the 12 months it has been operational, and will be used to support and resource community events and festivals, school events and larger festivals and events like the Queenscliff Music Festival and the Portarlington Mussel Festival.
